In order to become a naturalized citizen of the U.S., applicants face a number of challenges, including passing a test on U.S. government, history and geography. This test draws from a pool of around 100 questions, and asks applicants up to 10 questions. This is an oral exam and questions are not multiple-choice. Applicants need to get six questions correct to pass.

How many of these can your students answer?

  1. What is the rule of law?
  2. What is the economic system of the United States?
  3. What stops one branch of government from becoming too powerful?
  4. Who makes federal laws?
  5. How many justices are on the Supreme Court?
  6. What territory did the U.S. buy from France in 1803?
  7. Name two of the longest rivers in the U.S.
  8. When was the Constitution written?
  9. The Federalist papers supported the passage of the U.S. Constitution. Name one of the writers.
  10. What is one promise you make when you become a United States citizen?

The new test does require more study. I dislike multiple choice so I wanted to make something everyone could use to study the test (For Free). The answers are covered till you pass the mouse cursor over the blue cover.

With Practice this is not a bad test.

Best of luck to all that will be taking the test in the future.
